Thesis Title: Re-examining International Regimes: The impact of complex polarity
Mark Beeson
About
My MPhil/PhD thesis is exploring the relationship between changes in polarity (between multi, bi and unipolar systems) and inter-state cooperation.
My main research interests relate to great power politics, nuclear arms control and disarmament, the UN system and UN reform and international relations theory (particularly systemic theories around polarity, hegemony, hierarchy, English school of IR etc.).
I also wok at Chatham House (Royal Institute of International Affairs) in the Energy, Environment and Development Programme where I coordinate a project on trade, finance and climate change.
