About
My thesis examines the physical characteristics of spaces used to stage drama in royal palaces during the Renaissance, and seeks to unpack the relationship between dramatic court performances and their spatial frames. Beyond a merely empirical investigation into Renaissance performance spaces, the central focus of my thesis illuminates the ways spaces/rooms/venues themselves present their own performances.
