My research interests include; virtue ethics, especially the philosophy of Iris Murdoch and the ethics of care; global ethics, including multiculturalism, global values and the war on terror; women’s rights and feminist activism; bioethical issues, particularly, reproductive and genetic ethics as well as concerns about property and commodification.
I am active in a number of research projects and networks. In 2005 I was awarded a visiting fellowship at Harvard University, where I worked on moral neo-colonialism. I have led a number of bioethics projects; such as PropEur (Property Regulation in European Science, Ethics and Law), which examined the ethics and governance of tangible and intangible property in the Human Genome, Human Tissue, Plant and Animal Genomes and the Information Society and currently she is a partner in Tiss.Eu (an EC project which examines the correct governance of human tissue). I also serve as a member of the UK Biobank Ethics and Governance Council and on the committee of the Scientific Committee for the 10th International Congress of the Association of Bioethics. I am Lead Editor of the Journal of Global Ethics and on the editorial board of Globalizations and Health Care Analysis.
