About

This year I'm doing papers on phenomenology, feminism and women's cinema from articles that are in press. The international conference on French women's cinema 2000-2010 I co-organised at the IGRS in London in December 2010 will give rise to an edited special issue of Studies in European Cinema (early 2013), and I am developing a new book project on embodiment in women's cinema and another project that involves translating some largely forgotten French film theory. Having been Head of Research for my School since August 2008, I anticipate lighter admin/management for 2011-2014, during which time I hope finally to get a Film section established at Birmingham (there aren't very many of us, but a strong half-degree is already in existence).
