About
I'm currently completing a PhD on emplacement and petrogenesis of the Newry Igneous Complex, Northern Ireland. The complex largely consists of granodiorite, along with an ultramafic-intermediate body at its NE end. I have used a technique known as Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility (AMS) to begin to deduce an emplacement mechanism for the intrusion. I plan to use petrographic and lithogical studies to further constrain this mechanism, together with various geochemical techniqes, which will help to determine petrogenesis and timing of emplacement.
I have previously published work relating to my Masters project on the geochemistry of fossil microvertebrate assemblages.
